One day when I was in second grade, we had recess after a hard rain. As you can imagine, there were lots of mud puddles. As you can also probably imagine, many kids disregarded specific instructions NOT to play in them and got in deep trouble. It was not a pretty sight.

I hadn't thought about that day in years, but that was the first image that popped into my mind after finding out the topic for this week - seeing lots of kids waiting to go into the principal's office to tell their side of the story.

Wow what a tough topic... although I enjoy a challenge. Inspired by the times my son snatches some of my meal when he's eaten all of his and still hungry. :) Yummy worm...

My first entry to Illustration Friday! And I'm running late posting it.. go figure. Anyway, I really wanted to add more detail to the grass and buildings, but I ran out of time. I use this style from time to time, but I had so much fun with it that I think I may use it more often.

I thought that I would open with a piece that I did about a week ago. It was my first attempt at using Liquid Ink in Painter, although I colored it in Photoshop. I was fairly pleased with the results.
