What I've Been Up To

Wow, has it really been almost a year and a half since my last post? Really? Really.

Anyway, just thought that I would share some random pages of my FIRST children's book, The Legend of Peli Claus. My boss at my office did the writing, I did the art and we wrapped it up around a month ago! It took a little over 7 months to get it finished, due to the fact that I was, for the most part, only able to work on it in my spare time, but it was totally worth it. By the last few spreads, I had the process down and was able to breeze through them.  Depending on how this book does, we actually have have an idea for a second one that I will (hopefully) wrap up next year.

Illustration Friday: Green

After taking an extended break from IF, I'm back! This is a piece I did back in December as a gift for a friend's son. There's a ton of green in here sooooo... enjoy!

Illustration Friday: Phobia

I had so many ideas for this week, I decided to combine several into one piece. Actually, I had enough do to do a second piece - there was snakes, the dark, dentists, etc etc etc lol.

Illustration Friday: Safe

It's clobberin' time! The concept here is that the bully is about to pound the small kid, while having no idea that he's about to be pummeled by the kid's imaginary friend (thus making the kid SAFE).

Illustration Friday: Clean

One day when I was in second grade, we had recess after a hard rain. As you can imagine, there were lots of mud puddles. As you can also probably imagine, many kids disregarded specific instructions NOT to play in them and got in deep trouble. It was not a pretty sight.

I hadn't thought about that day in years, but that was the first image that popped into my mind after finding out the topic for this week - seeing lots of kids waiting to go into the principal's office to tell their side of the story.

P.S. My son is the one all the way on the right. Enjoy!

File This Under "Late"...

..as in "Real Late". This originally was going to be my entry for Illustration Friday: Sticky, but I ran out of time. Finally got a chance to finish it, so I figured that I would post it. :)

Illustration Friday: Sacrifice

Wow what a tough topic... although I enjoy a challenge. Inspired by the times my son snatches some of my meal when he's eaten all of his and still hungry. :) Yummy worm...
