Illustration Friday: Clean

One day when I was in second grade, we had recess after a hard rain. As you can imagine, there were lots of mud puddles. As you can also probably imagine, many kids disregarded specific instructions NOT to play in them and got in deep trouble. It was not a pretty sight.

I hadn't thought about that day in years, but that was the first image that popped into my mind after finding out the topic for this week - seeing lots of kids waiting to go into the principal's office to tell their side of the story.

P.S. My son is the one all the way on the right. Enjoy!

This is absolutely charming... and I love the story behind it. Sounds like a children's book in the making ;)

Children usually don't worry so much on the consequence of being punish for misbehaving. They just love to have some fun and more fun. I will love to be like them.

Stefan, nice job. And I had to comment on somebody from my home town, Lafayette. I got my advertising design degree from USL. Keep up the good work! :-)

Great illustration. I love all the expressions especially the "goodie two shoes" guy. I remember that bench and the feeling of sitting there waiting for my turn to go in. You dreaded your time coming but then again prayed for it to come so it would be over.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this picture! (and not just because I teach) The fact that they're outside "The Office" is well conveyed by their expressions. I also like the textures in the background. Although, I think it would be more true to life if you had two of them giving each other sidelong smirks.

this has great style and i like the composition. Then there's the anomaly of the one shining clean kid, it's really funny. the different sort of shapes of the different kinds of kids are cool too.

So cute! Love your style...the splotches, the clean-sheen. Nice contrast. Cheers!
